Sandra Benito - i+Med
“To transmit the values of our company, it is important that language and culture go hand in hand”
The company i+Med was founded ten years ago in Vitoria-Gasteiz with the aim of creating technological innovations, promoting people's health and devising new technological solutions. In a decade it has more than 130 employees, is located in the Alava Technology Park and will soon move into its own building.
Sandra Benito, Laboratory Supervisor, was our interlocutor in this interview. “We were eager to construct a new building tailored to our preferences and capable of meeting our needs. To give it our identity, we decided to call it GURE ETXEA (Our Home).”
The new building will house the International Institute for Smart Nanohydrogels, which will be the first institute of its kind in the world. The company has done a lot of work in the field of nanohydrogels in recent years and they have become a worldwide reference.
i+Med joined the INDEUS Platform in 2023 because they want to recover the presence and use of Basque. “Developing the Basque Plan must be a priority as it directly relates to our identity. It is important for language and culture to go hand in hand if we are to convey our values, identity and intention to be a local company.”
