“The Basque language is a central axis of our activity”

GISLAN was created as a result of a shortcoming detected in territorial analysis. The creation of the company is the starting point for this interview with Imanol Esnaola, director of the cooperative: data processing, technological solutions, spatial intelligence and the Basque language were the topics of conversation.

GISLAN has come a long way in the processing of information about the territory and now they have specialised in providing data solutions to the customer: ‘we have always worked with data, from the beginning, and today we work with data science, that is, we apply data science processes to give the customer what they need in terms of data’.

Regarding the Basque language, Imanol Esnaola stated that ‘for us, the Basque language is a central axis of our activity. Our commitment is firm: to offer Basque-speaking customers the technology they need in Basque’.

GISLAN has been a member of the Industry Platform since 2023: ‘being together, listening to each other, knowing where each other is, what each other is doing and having the opportunity to help each other gives you a certain strength’.
